ACF Urges State of Emergency as Power Outages Cripple Northern Nigeria

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has called on the Nigerian government to declare a state of emergency in response to prolonged and crippling power outages in northern states.
ACF claims the lack of electricity has severely affected economic and social life, impacting everything from healthcare to small businesses. The group warns that the continuous power disruptions could worsen poverty and destabilize the region, as essential services and industries are disrupted daily.
Northern residents have expressed frustration over the situation, with many calling for immediate government intervention. In response, the Federal Government has acknowledged the crisis and assured residents that efforts are underway to restore power.
However, with no clear timeline, ACF’s appeal for a state of emergency underscores the dire need for immediate solutions.
