The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has delisted more than 400,000 inactive and non-compliant companies in 2025, the Registrar-General Hussaini Magaji announced.
The move aims to strengthen the integrity of Nigeria’s national companies register and streamline business operations.
Magaji highlighted that CAC has fully digitized its services, allowing entrepreneurs to register companies remotely, improving transparency and ease of doing business.
In partnership with SMEDAN, the commission facilitated free registration for 250,000 small businesses.
The CAC also operationalized a ‘beneficial ownership register’ to identify ultimate owners of companies, promoting accountability.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to modernize corporate regulation and encourage formal compliance in Nigeria’s business ecosystem.
