Dangote Exposes Multiple Sabotage Attempts On $19 Billion Refinery Project

Aliko Dangote, Africa’s wealthiest man, revealed that both local and international forces attempted to sabotage his $19 billion refinery project multiple times.

Speaking at the Afreximbank annual meetings in The Bahamas, Dangote disclosed that he has repaid $2.4 billion of the $5.5 billion borrowed for the refinery, which can process 650,000 barrels of crude oil daily.

Despite the resistance, which he compared to the fierce tactics of the drug mafia, Dangote remains determined to see the refinery operational.

He acknowledged the challenges posed by entities benefiting from the old system but remains optimistic about the refinery’s critical role in transforming the energy landscape in Nigeria and beyond.
