Dangote Plans To List All Group Businesses On Exchange

Aliko Dangote has revealed plans to list all businesses under the Dangote Group on the stock market, a move he says is designed to create wealth for more Nigerians.

The billionaire industrialist disclosed that shareholders of the Dangote Refinery will receive dividends in dollars, a detail that will excite investors but also raise questions about local currency pressures.

Listing the group’s businesses could deepen Nigeria’s capital market and give ordinary citizens a rare chance to own a stake in one of Africa’s largest conglomerates.

However, the real test lies in execution. Many Nigerians remain sceptical of promises from big business, especially after years of watching wealth concentrate in a few hands while poverty deepens.

If handled transparently, this could be a genuine opportunity for wealth democratisation. If not, it risks becoming another exercise that benefits only the already wealthy.

The details of the listing timeline and structure will determine which way it goes.
