Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, announced plans for the Federal Government to audit the N23 trillion debt accrued through Ways and Means borrowing from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The audit aims to ensure transparency and accountability, preventing the government from paying for funds it didn’t utilize.
Edun emphasized efforts to enhance Nigeria’s business environment by eliminating unnecessary taxes and boosting revenue generation across Government Owned Enterprises (GOEs).
Additionally, he highlighted initiatives to enhance oil output by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, aiming to bolster oil revenue for the nation.
