The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) reported a revenue of N1.07 billion from passenger services in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
While passenger revenue saw a slight decline compared to the previous year, revenue from goods/cargos surged by 169.16%, indicating increased economic activities.
The NRC’s efforts to improve rail transportation infrastructure and services have contributed to this positive trend, underscoring the importance of rail transport in driving economic growth and facilitating trade and commerce across the country.
