Tinubu Sacks Finance, Housing Ministers in Sudden Cabinet Shake-Up

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dismissed Finance Minister Wale Edun and Housing Minister Umar Dangiwa in a surprise cabinet reshuffle aimed at “improving governance efficiency.”

According to the Presidency, Edun will be replaced by Taiwo Oyedele, while a new nominee has been named for the housing ministry.

Officials say the move is designed to strengthen policy coordination, but the sudden change has sparked questions about the administration’s economic direction amid rising inflation and public dissatisfaction.

Analysts note that frequent reshuffles may signal deeper structural challenges rather than genuine reform, especially as Nigerians continue to grapple with worsening living conditions.
