Dozens of passengers narrowly escaped death on Thursday when an Enugu Air aircraft crash-landed at Benin Airport in Edo State.
The aircraft, registration 5N-ENR, was operating the Enugu–Benin–Lagos route when the incident occurred around midday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene as passengers were evacuated. All 68 people on board survived, though some sustained injuries.
The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau has launched an inquiry into the cause of the crash.
It is the latest in a series of aviation incidents that have raised questions about the country’s airworthiness oversight.
