The governments of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states in Nigeria have initiated measures to provide palliatives to citizens affected by the removal of petrol subsidy.
These three states in the northeastern region of Nigeria have been particularly impacted by insurgency and have experienced increased hardships due to the subsidy removal.
The distribution of palliatives to households has begun in Borno and Yobe, while Adamawa is working on modalities for distribution.
Borno state is providing additional support to vulnerable households beyond the federal government’s efforts. The move is aimed at alleviating the economic challenges faced by citizens following the subsidy removal.
