The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has expressed concerns about terrorists using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to disrupt socio-economic activities in Nigeria.
At the Counter Man-Portable Air Defence Systems (MANPADS) Workshop in Abuja, Maj. Gen. Adamu Laka, National Coordinator of the National Counter-terrorism Centre, emphasized the need for collaboration to enhance aviation security.
The workshop, in partnership with the UK government, aims to address threats and improve Nigeria’s counter-terrorism capabilities.
Jonathan Kendall, UK Aviation Security Assistance Officer, highlighted the vulnerability of aircraft to shoulder-launched missiles and the importance of patrolling and mapping vulnerable areas.
