The Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, has issued a 14-day ultimatum to contractors handling abandoned road projects to return to their respective sites or face contract revocation. This announcement followed a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa.
Umahi also warned contractors against resisting the use of concrete in road construction, indicating that those who do may be reported to anti-corruption agencies.
He further stated that some contractors had already embraced the policy of using concrete, and cement producers had agreed to offer discounts for government road builders.
