Heavy rainfall early Wednesday morning flooded several areas in Lagos, disrupting commuters’ movements.
The downpour caused significant flooding in Iyana-Oworo, Olopo Meji, and routes leading to the Third Mainland Bridge, resulting in heavy traffic extending to Alapere.
Many commuters were left stranded at bus stops, unable to reach their workplaces. In Oshodi, a fallen tree around Airport U-turn further complicated the situation until Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) personnel cleared the obstruction.
Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, assured residents that efforts were underway to manage the flooding and thanked motorists for their patience.
