Nigerian Railway Corporation Raises Alarm Over Vandalism and Access Issues

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has expressed concern over the vandalism of railway assets and difficulties accessing Apapa Port due to truck congestion.

During a stakeholders summit organized by the Nigerian Shippers Council, NRC’s Akinwunmi Oshilowo highlighted ongoing problems with vandalized railway tracks and obstructed access for locomotives.

The NRC faces significant challenges with damaged infrastructure and narrow corridors congested with trucks.

The Shippers Council aims to address these issues and improve rail transportation efficiency, which is crucial for reducing port congestion and enhancing cargo movement across Nigeria.
