The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has threatened to disconnect the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) from the national grid due to non-compliance with market rules and failure to provide an adequate Bank Guarantee.
The disconnection is set for July 28 at specific feeders in the Katampe and Central Area transmission stations.
TCN’s notice, signed by Ali Bukar Ahmad, highlighted AEDC’s persistent default despite multiple warnings. To avoid suspension, AEDC must provide the required Bank Guarantee within five business days.
Failure to comply may result in partial or total disconnection and termination of AEDC’s market participation agreement after 30 business days.
