We Were Kept with Hyenas and Snakes’ – General Tsiga Recounts Ordeal

Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga (Rtd), former NYSC Director-General, has shared harrowing details of his two-month captivity in the hands of kidnappers.
Tsiga revealed that he and other hostages were held in a remote forest filled with deadly animals. He described a chilling moment when a hyena circled them, seemingly hunting for food.
The 72-year-old recounted how the terrorists used them as human shields during military attacks. In one instance, an unexploded rocket was placed near him, intended to detonate if he moved.
Speaking on behalf of fellow captives, Tsiga expressed gratitude to National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and the Chief of Defence Staff for securing their release. He urged Nigerians to support security efforts, emphasizing that intelligence gathering is key to tackling terrorism.
