Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has granted a final 14-day grace period to property owners in Asokoro, Maitama, Wuse, and Garki who violated land use clauses to pay a ₦5 million fine and other applicable conversion fees.
A statement from his media aide, Lere Olayinka, said the defaulters have until November 25 to comply or face enforcement actions.
The affected areas include Gana Street, Yakubu Gowon Crescent, Aminu Kano Crescent, and Gimbiya Street, among others.
Wike’s directive follows earlier notices issued in September, giving owners of converted properties one month to regularize their land use.
Those who comply will receive new title documents — a Statutory Right of Occupancy and Certificate of Occupancy — valid for 99 years.
However, properties already revoked for non-development or unpaid rent are excluded.
The FCT Administration reiterated that the exercise aims to ensure orderly development in Abuja and restore compliance with approved urban planning laws.
