Passenger train operations on the Abuja–Kaduna corridor will resume October 1, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced.
Services were suspended after an August 26 derailment involving 618 passengers.
NRC said all injured victims have been compensated with weekly free rides until December 31, while all passengers will enjoy one free trip. Every Wednesday will now be set aside for routine maintenance.
The corporation thanked commuters for their patience, pledging improved safety, efficiency, and customer care.
NRC said it remains committed to providing secure and affordable rail transport that strengthens national connectivity.
