Ahmed Musa Appointed Kano Pillars General Manager

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has appointed former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, as the General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club.

The move comes as part of efforts to rejuvenate the club ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

Musa, who once played for Pillars and has had a glittering international career, is expected to bring fresh energy and global attention to the team.

The new 17-member management board, which retained several members from the previous team that secured a 9th-place finish last season, was unveiled on Friday.

The Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, described Musa’s appointment as a strategic step to blend football experience with management expertise.

The new board is chaired by Ali Muhammad Umar (Nayara), with other members drawn from Kano’s football community.

Governor Yusuf said Musa’s presence would inspire younger players, attract sponsorship, and increase fan engagement. The club, one of Nigeria’s most decorated, is expected to undergo a transformation under the new leadership as it eyes a top-tier finish.
