Army Chief Orders Probe into Allegations of Poor Troop Feeding

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has directed an investigation into allegations of inadequate feeding for troops on the frontline in the North East Theatre of Operations.
The Nigerian Army views these claims seriously and is committed to ascertaining their accuracy and addressing any lapses. The Army prioritizes troop welfare, including nutrition, and has a comprehensive feeding system in place.
An internal investigation will examine the supply chain, food quality, and contributing factors. If culpability is found, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken. The Army encourages personnel to report grievances regarding feeding arrangements through established channels.
