Former Nigerian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, has been appointed Co-chairman of the African Union’s Scientific Research and Innovation Council (AU-ASRIC).
Pantami will lead efforts to craft policies and strategies for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) across Africa.
His achievements include establishing the National Centre of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and pioneering Nigeria’s Digital Economy Policy.
Pantami will co-chair the council with Namibia’s Prof. Anicia Nicola Peter, a specialist in Human-Computer Interaction and emerging technologies.
The council aims to drive Africa’s adoption of technologies like AI, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity, positioning the continent for technological advancement.
