Notorious bandit leader Bello Turji has accused two former northern governors of fueling insecurity in Zamfara and Sokoto states, claims that have been strongly dismissed by sources close to the ex-leaders.
In a viral video, Turji alleged that past administrations armed vigilante groups known as Yan Banga, which he claimed escalated violence against Fulani communities.
He denied allegations that he received ₦30 million to participate in peace talks, insisting that negotiations were purely aimed at restoring peace.
“I have never possessed even five million naira,” he claimed, accusing a former peace negotiator of lying.
Meanwhile, security forces recorded a major success with the killing of notorious bandit Kachalla Na’Allah in Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Na’Allah, a cousin of infamous bandit Ibrahim Chimmo, was neutralised by a joint team of mobile police, community guards and the Nigerian Army.
The operation followed the recent killing of another kingpin, Kachalla Kallamu, in Sabon Birnin.
Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s security adviser praised the sustained military offensive, describing it as a decisive blow against bandit networks terrorising the North-West.
