A Federal High Court in Kaduna has postponed the hearing of a bail application filed by former governor Nasir El-Rufai to March 31, prolonging his detention amid escalating legal battles over alleged corruption.
El-Rufai, who faces a 10-count charge including money laundering and conversion of public assets, pleaded not guilty when arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
His legal team is pushing for bail to enable him prepare his defence, but prosecutors argue that releasing him could interfere with ongoing investigations.
