The ECOWAS Parliament has called for immediate reforms to address pressing regional challenges like floods, terrorism, and violent extremism.
Speaker Memounatou Ibrahima stressed the need for action during the Third Extra-Ordinary Session in Togo, urging member states to enhance democracy and good governance.
The session will review ECOWAS’ 2023 budget and draft a financial roadmap for 2025-2027.
The Speaker praised Togo’s President for supporting women’s empowerment and called for greater regional cooperation to strengthen West African economies.
The Parliament also plans to address human rights issues and promote financial inclusion for women.
