ASUU Demands Full Payment of Eight-Month Salary Arrears

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has renewed its call for the federal government to release withheld salaries from the eight-month 2022 strike.

During a press briefing in Abuja, ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, said the union would resist any attempt to split payments.

He accused the government of insincerity, saying lecturers had fulfilled all agreements since returning to work.

The Education Ministry maintains that partial payments align with the “no work, no pay” rule, but the union insists on full compensation.

Analysts warn the dispute could trigger another round of industrial unrest if not resolved promptly.
