The Federal Ministry of Education is set to establish an inter-ministerial commission today to address the issue of degree mills.
The move comes in response to an investigative report revealing the operations of degree mills in Benin Republic and Togo, where individuals obtained degrees within a short period.
The Education Minister, Prof. Tahir Mamman, will inaugurate the committee to tackle this challenge, emphasizing the government’s commitment to addressing the issue and broadening the search to include colleges in other African countries like Ghana.
The investigation prompted the suspension of the accreditation and evaluation of degrees from Benin Republic and Togo.
