The Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have concluded a closed-door meeting with a commitment to resolve ongoing disputes and prevent a potential strike.
Key issues discussed included the removal from IPPIS, renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement, and outstanding salaries and allowances.
ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, expressed hope that the government would honor the agreements.
Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, confirmed that consultations would continue to address challenges in the education sector and prevent industrial actions.
