The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a stern warning to registration centres engaging in nocturnal registration practices for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Speaking through Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, the board expressed serious concerns about the safety and security risks posed to candidates registering at night.
According to the advisory, centres operating after dark, including those at Thomas Adewumi University in Kwara, CBT Centre Otukpo, and several institutions in Rivers, Cross River, Plateau, and other states, must cease these activities immediately.
Dr. Benjamin stressed that while JAMB appreciates the centres’ efforts to accommodate a growing number of candidates, such practices compromise the well-being of students.
The Board listed ten centres found to be in violation and declared this notice as the final warning before further action is taken. JAMB reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent and secure registration process and urged all centres to prioritize candidate safety over financial incentives.
The agency will continue to monitor registration operations closely to enforce compliance with all established guidelines, ensuring that the integrity of the UTME process remains uncompromised.
