The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned 2026 UTME candidates against falsifying information during registration, stressing that violations could lead to a ban of up to three years. Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede said offenders may also face prosecution by EFCC, ICPC, or the police, and could have their names publicly listed.
He noted that candidates must attest to the authenticity of their academic credentials and personal information, explaining that the attestation is now an integral part of the application.
“Any attempt to falsify data will attract appropriate sanctions,” Oloyede said, emphasizing that such measures aim to curb fraud and protect the integrity of admissions processes.
The Registrar urged candidates to provide truthful details, warning that falsification could jeopardize their chances of securing admission into tertiary institutions.
