UI Students Protest Against Fee Hike and Poor Conditions

Thousands of University of Ibadan students staged a protest against increased school fees and poor living conditions. The protest began at 8 a.m., blocking all entrances and halting academic activities.

Students voiced their grievances, citing exorbitant fee hikes, unreliable power supply, and the victimization of previous protesters. One student highlighted the plight of paying N300,000 in fees, up from N78,000.

The protest also disrupted a scheduled event at the Department of Economics. The protesters demanded fair treatment and immediate action from the university management.
