The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has withheld the results of 65 candidates who participated in the maiden Computer Based Test (CBT) of its 2024 first series, WASSCE, for private candidates.
Dr. Amos Dangut, the council’s Head of National Office, disclosed that the results were withheld due to reported cases of examination malpractice.
However, he noted a significant reduction in examination malpractice compared to previous years.
WAEC assured that investigations into the reported cases are ongoing, and affected candidates can apply for redress through the council’s complaint portal.
The results revealed a marginal increase in candidates obtaining credit or above in a minimum of five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, compared to previous years.
