The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended Prophet Adeniyi Abiodun James, the General Overseer of CAC Freedom City Prophetic and Deliverance Ministry, for allegedly defrauding a church member of N3,980,000.
The victim, Oluwole Babarinsa, accused the cleric of deceiving him with promises of facilitating his relocation to Canada.
Babarinsa alleged that he paid the prophet the said amount for visa processing and other expenses but received no tangible assistance.
The EFCC’s intervention follows a petition lodged by Babarinsa, signaling the agency’s commitment to combatting financial fraud and protecting citizens from exploitation.
Prophet James is slated for arraignment upon the conclusion of investigations, underscoring the EFCC’s resolve to hold perpetrators of economic crimes accountable and uphold the rule of law.
