Eight kidnapped Nasarawa varsity students regain freedom

Eight students from the Federal University of Lafia in Nasarawa State, who were kidnapped on December 6, 2023, have been released.
Gunmen had abducted the students in the Gandu community, and they were reportedly taken to Kwarra village before being moved to Lafia by police operatives. The students, who appeared pale and exhausted, were offered food by the community before being taken for a medical checkup.
The university’s information head confirmed their release and mentioned that security measures would be strengthened to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
The police spokesperson, however, claimed not to have received any official report about the incident.
