The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has announced a full enforcement of the ban on street hawking around office premises, effective January next year.
This move aims to bolster security surveillance and curb theft and other criminal activities in the area.
Sunday Olubiyi, Head of Internal Security, Department of Security Services, conveyed this decision during a press briefing in Abuja.
The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, recently provided 50 operational vehicles to security agencies, further demonstrating the administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property in the capital.
The intensified security measures are expected to create a safer environment for government employees and visitors to the FCT’s administrative areas.
This enforcement signifies a stricter approach to maintaining order and security within the city’s official zones.
