The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has issued a directive for all international airlines to cease operations at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) by October 1, 2023.
This move is aimed at facilitating extensive maintenance work at the airport. During a visit to the airport in Lagos, Minister Keyamo, accompanied by Kabir Yusuf Mohammed from the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), stated that affected airlines and companies should shift operations to the new MMIA Terminal 2. Additionally, all contracts, projects, and concessions in the sector have been put on hold until further notice.
