Former President Buhari Mourns Soldiers Killed in Niger

Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences over the deaths of soldiers in Niger State. The soldiers were killed in an ambush and subsequent helicopter crash. Buhari’s message, conveyed through a statement from his media aide Garba Shehu, expressed sadness over the helicopter accident and the loss of brave army personnel.
He extended his thoughts to the bereaved families and hoped for the quick recovery of the injured. Buhari also conveyed his condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the Armed Forces of the Federation, and the families of the deceased.
He expressed confidence in the discipline of the troops and their ability to overcome challenges. The Defence Headquarters confirmed the deaths of 36 officers in the ambush and helicopter crash. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
