The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has initiated a nationwide operation to curb the transportation of petroleum and other inflammable substances in passenger vehicles.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, directed immediate deployment of patrol teams to enforce this measure following investigations linking recent road crashes to the illegal transport of fuel.
The FRSC also plans to raise public awareness about the dangers of carrying such materials.
Offenders may face prosecution, as the FRSC intensifies efforts to prevent fire-related accidents on Nigeria’s highways.
Passengers are urged to report any vehicles transporting hazardous materials to ensure their safety.
