Group Raises Alarm Over Hajj Fees, Calls for Government Intervention

The Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG) has sounded the alarm following the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s (NAHCON) imposition of additional fees on intending pilgrims.

Expressing concerns over the financial implications for prospective pilgrims, the group called for urgent government intervention.

MMWG emphasized the significance of concessional exchange rates for Hajj, urging President Bola Tinubu to address the escalating costs. The group highlighted the social, economic, and spiritual importance of Hajj, advocating for equitable access to pilgrimage opportunities.

Amidst growing apprehensions within the Muslim community, MMWG’s call for government action underscores the need for inclusive and responsive policies.

As Hajj preparations unfold, stakeholders await decisive measures to alleviate financial burdens and ensure accessibility for all intending pilgrims.
