Striking Doctors Demand Government Action

Medical consultants across Nigeria have embarked on a nationwide strike, citing the government’s failure to address key demands.
MDCAN Chairman, Dr. Samuel Emdin highlighted issues, including non-payment of allowances, disparities in retirement ages, and alleged misconduct by the governing council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
The doctors called for immediate government intervention, emphasizing the need for harmonized salary structures and improved welfare.
MDCAN warned of further action if demands are unmet, stressing that the strike aims to ensure fairness and better healthcare delivery across Nigeria.
