Hunger Protest Erupts in Niger

Youth in Suleja, Niger State, staged a protest against the rising cost of living, holding placards with messages such as “Enough is Enough” and “Stop Anti-Masses Policies.”

The protest, marked by chants against the government, was part of a broader dissatisfaction with economic conditions.

Governor Mohammed Bago had previously introduced welfare measures, including a wage allowance and subsidized food, to mitigate the crisis. Despite these efforts, the protest proceeded as planned, with heightened security presence in affected areas.
