The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has issued a warning that sexual harassment is considered a corrupt practice, carrying a prison term of not less than seven years.
The secretary to the commission, Clifford Oparaodu, emphasized that victims should be aware of their rights and how to seek justice.
Oparaodu stated that sexual harassment is a deviation from the norm, using one’s office to demand sexual gratification for performing official duties.
The ICPC is working to address sexual harassment in tertiary and secondary institutions, aiming to prevent sexual gratification and the abuse of office by officials.
