The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has resumed nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR), marking the second phase of the process.
The resumption, effective Monday, follows the conclusion of the first phase on December 10, 2025, which saw nearly 10 million Nigerians begin online pre-registration, with over 2.5 million completing the process.
INEC urged eligible citizens to enrol, update personal details, or transfer voting locations. Those registered in the first phase were advised to verify their information and report errors.
The interval between the two phases was used to display the voters’ register for claims and objections, as required by law. Registration remains suspended in Anambra State and the Federal Capital Territory due to ongoing electoral activities, with new dates to be announced.
The commission emphasised that the exercise aims to broaden voter participation and ensure an up-to-date, credible register ahead of upcoming elections.
