Johann Rupert Overtakes Aliko Dangote as Africa’s Richest in 2024

South African billionaire Johann Rupert has secured the position of Africa’s richest person for 2024, surpassing Nigerian tycoon Aliko Dangote.

Forbes Real-Time Billionaires reports a decline in Dangote’s net worth from $13.5 billion in 2023 to $9.7 billion, while Rupert’s net worth decreases from $10.7 billion to $10 billion during the same period.

Rupert, the chairman of Compagnie Financiere Richemont, is recognized for his involvement in luxury brands such as Cartier and Montblanc.
