Former President Goodluck Jonathan has called for compassion and support for victims of recent stampedes in Ibadan, Abuja, and Okija.
In his Christmas message, Jonathan expressed sorrow over the incidents, which claimed numerous lives during palliative distributions.
He urged authorities to implement strategies to prevent such tragedies, emphasizing the need for unity and care during the festive season. “Christmas reminds us of love and hope.
Let us extend our support to those in pain,” Jonathan said.
Meanwhile, South-West governors led by Ogun’s Dapo Abiodun paid a condolence visit to Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde. They stressed the importance of collaboration between private entities and government to ensure safety during public events.
