Kaduna mob storms police station, burns woman alive

A woman accused of child theft was lynched and set ablaze by an angry mob in Maraban Jos, Kaduna State, on Sunday.

Hundreds of residents stormed the local police station, overpowered officers and forcibly removed the suspect from protective custody before carrying out the jungle justice.

The Kaduna State Police Command condemned the killing, saying it was a clear case of mob violence. Police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.

The incident highlights the growing insecurity and breakdown of law and order in parts of the country, where vigilante justice often replaces due process.

This is the latest in a series of mob killings sparked by allegations of theft, kidnapping or witchcraft. Activists have repeatedly called on authorities to strengthen policing and public awareness to prevent such tragedies.
