Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has led a high-level delegation to Saudi Arabia for the funeral of the late business magnate and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.
The funeral will be held in Madina, in accordance with Dantata’s wishes, following his passing in Abu Dhabi.
The delegation includes the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II; Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi; former Governor Ali Saad Birnin Kudu; and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the Kano airport, Governor Yusuf described Dantata as a father figure whose philanthropic legacy and economic impact transcended borders.
The late Dantata was revered for his humility, faith, and transformative investments in commerce and community development. His passing marks the end of an era in Nigeria’s business and humanitarian landscape.
The international funeral is expected to attract religious leaders, family members, government representatives, and admirers from across the globe.
Governor Yusuf said the trip signifies the deep respect Kano State holds for Dantata, whom he called “a beacon of generosity and integrity.”
