Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has reinstated Alhaji Aliyu Abdulkadir Gaya as the Emir of Gaya and appointed Alhaji Muhammad Karaye and Alhaji Muhammad Umar as Emirs of Karaye and Rano, respectively.
Announced by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, these new emirates will function as second-class emirates under Kano’s first-class status.
Governor Yusuf urged the newly appointed emirs to uphold culture, peace, and unity within their territories.
The move follows the recent legislation creating three new second-class emirates, with Rano covering Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure LGAs, Gaya covering Gaya, Ajingi, and Albasu LGAs, and Karaye covering Karaye and Rogo LGAs.
