President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated that local refineries in Nigeria will soon begin production of petroleum products.
During the 11th Convocation ceremony of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Tinubu mentioned that some local refineries would soon start production, which would contribute to reducing the current high prices of fuel.
He acknowledged the economic challenges in the country and assured Nigerians that efforts were being made to address them.
Tinubu also emphasized the importance of universities in driving the transformation of the agricultural sector for food security and sustainable development goals. He urged private organizations to collaborate with agricultural universities to enhance research findings and contribute to national development.
Tinubu highlighted ongoing efforts to fine-tune policy instruments and address the root causes of the country’s challenges.
