Military Scores Major Victory: 148 Terrorists Killed, 258 Suspects Arrested

The Nigerian military said it has achieved significant successes in its ongoing counter-terrorism operations, neutralizing 148 terrorists and apprehending 258 suspects across various theaters within the past week.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj Gen Edward Buba, detailed the impressive operational outcomes.
Notably, two key ammunition couriers, identified as Danweri and Abubakar Hamza, were apprehended in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
These individuals were actively collaborating with terrorist groups and are now assisting security forces with their investigations.
Beyond these arrests, the military rescued a total of 291 kidnapped hostages, bringing relief to families and communities affected by this heinous crime.
Furthermore, in a concerted effort to combat oil theft, the military arrested 51 suspected oil thieves and thwarted oil theft operations valued at a staggering N798,146,470.00 in the South-South region.
Troops in the Niger Delta discovered and destroyed a significant number of illegal oil refining sites, including 68 crude oil cooking ovens, 13 dugout pits, and 41 boats.
A substantial cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered, including two PKT guns, 72 AK-47 rifles, 33 fabricated rifles, and 28 Dane guns.
This significant haul of weaponry will significantly disrupt the operational capabilities of terrorist groups.
