The Miyetti Allah, a Fulani socio-cultural association, has established a 55-member legal committee to address what it sees as injustice suffered by its members across Nigeria.
The committee will review cases against its members and seek legal remedies. The association expressed concern over the incarceration of Fulani cattle herders, claiming that many are unjustly treated, humiliated, and sent to jail.
The committee aims to provide legal assistance to those unfairly treated. The association emphasized its commitment to peace and unity in Nigeria, and its intention to address grievances through legal means rather than violence.
The move comes amid tensions between herders and farming communities in various parts of Nigeria.
