Nasarawa Partners NASENI on Lithium Production

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to harness the state’s lithium resources for the production of solar panels and motor vehicle batteries.

This strategic partnership aimed to position Nasarawa State as a leading player in the global lithium market, while also driving economic growth and development in the region.

The governor disclosed this during a visit to the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, in Abuja, where they discussed the finer details of the collaboration.

Sule stated that the state’s first lithium processing plant is almost ready for commissioning, and that other issues, including insecurity around mining sites and fostering cooperation with the federal government for mining development, were also discussed during the meeting.

The minister commended Nasarawa State for supporting the establishment of a lithium processing facility and providing an enabling environment for mining operations. This partnership is expected to create jobs, generate revenue, and contribute significantly to the state’s GDP.
